Woodworking process

I started woodworking to create furniture for our house, namely because the pieces we needed did not exist in the right sizes.

All my pieces come start as a sketch on my iPad. Generally I'd look up inspiration from various old Mid Century Modern books and then try to draw up something I'm happy with.

Once I've got a sense of what kind of wood I need and how much, I'll get to work in my shed/workshop. Each process is kinda of different as I lear new techniques and get better tools.

 

I'll usually make jigs as needed, like this one to cut nicely tapered legs.
